Lumiscope was founded in New Jersey in 1926 by Dr. Joe A. Mach as the National Hospital Supply Company. In 1928, Dr. Mach introduced the Mach Sphygmomanometer, the first truly portable blood pressure measurement device. In 1978, we achieved another first with the introduction of the first electronic blood pressure monitor designed for in-home consumer use. This pioneering device gave individuals the power to accurately measure their own blood pressure in the comfort of home.
